UVM Cancer Center and the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network awarded the American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant
New grant will support junior faculty.
The American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant provides seed money for newly independent investigators to initiate cancer research projects. Uniquely, this program incorporates pilot award funding and coordination of and assistance with mentoring and career development for junior faculty. It is intended for new investigators within six years of their first academic appointment who do not yet have active, nationally competitive research grants. Members of the UVM Cancer Center and other faculty at the University of Vermont and at MaineHealth Cancer Care Network and MaineHealth Institute for Research who are engaged in cancer relevant research will be eligible to apply in 2024.
