Church Street Marketplace

Burlington’s iconic Church Street Marketplace was opened on September 15, 1981. Church Street had been the heart of Burlington’s commercial district for generations, but by turning the street into a pedestrian mall, city planners created a novel space that has become a favorite destination for roughly three million visitors every year, including UVM students, families, faculty, and staff.
