Leverage your professional network to get introduced to people you should know.

Refer-A-Catamount

Do you know a high school junior or senior who might be a good fit for UVM? Or a current college student interested in transferring into UVM?

UVM Connect Tops the List for Sarah Madey ’09, Nerf’s Senior Brand Manager

Sarah Madey ’09 played women’s basketball for the Catamounts and earned her degree in business administration. She’s now working at Hasbro as a senior brand manager on the global marketing team for Nerf (and yes, she says it is as much fun as it sounds). Madey was an early adopter of UVM Connect, the University’s exclusive online community of alumni, students, staff, and faculty. She says it has allowed her to have more meaningful connections with students compared to other social and networking platforms she uses.

“For me, it’s been an amazing way to meet students, have great conversations, and make sure that I’m putting UVM students and alumni ahead of the other outreach that I’m getting.” She says students are incredibly thoughtful in their outreach to her, and she has connected with them on resume advice, tips on networking, internship opportunities, and even open positions at Hasbro or other companies where she has connections.

UVM Connect Mentoring from Sarah Madey ’09

“I refer students to UVM because I know first-hand that they will become part of a true community, that they’ll find an extended family on campus.”
-Kristyna Meyer ’91

Refer-A-Catamount: Refer an Outstanding High School Junior or Senior

Kristyna Meyer and her husband Tom both graduated with the UVM Class of 1991, and 30 years later their two oldest daughters, Sara ’19 and Sophie ’21, have followed in their footsteps. Kristyna says becoming a UVM parent revitalized her Catamount spirit and her desire to become involved and give back. She has served as a volunteer on the Alumni Association’s Washington, D.C. Regional Board, and she spreads the word about UVM to prospective students whenever she gets the chance.

“For Tom and me, and for our kids going away to college, it was exactly what I had hoped for—a home away from home.”

Do you know a student who might be a good fit for UVM? Help them learn more through the Refer-A-Catamount program! This year we received more than 200 referrals for the incoming class of 2025. 86% of those students applied, and 70% were accepted to UVM!
